It Official: El Bulli is closing

Chef Ferran Adria is closing the world-famous Michelin 3 Star El Bulli

El Bulli often described as ''The Best Restaurant is in the World'' is to close in December 2011.

Ferran Adrià announced the forthcoming El Bulli closure after 20 years of fully booked tables. The restaurant is only open from June to December - the remaining six months are spent with his team is his Barcelona laboratories, working on th next year's dishes. Losing €500,000 per year, despite charging £200 per person for the experience, Ferran has now decided to close the restaurant and concentrate on his cooking foundation.

How to secure a table:

First the bad news: On the one booking day in February, all table were booked for 2010, with a waiting list of 3,000 people.

But there is still a way of hopefully securing a booking: All people with reservations must confirm their intention to arrive ten days before their booking date. Anyone not doing so will lose their reservation. So 10 days before your arrival in the Roses area, email El Bulli or preferably phone them on (+34) 972 15 04 57, stating the dates you are available and the number in your party.

The most memorable Degustation Menu of your life! A unique menu of up to 30 courses, each totally different and an amazing experience for your taste buds. Dishes such as Sweetcorn snow egg with Mexican broth and coquinas, Lamb’s brains with sea urchins and sea grape, and Pink grapefruit with savoury black sesame praline, honey air and fennel bulb.
