It is the largest residential Marina in the Mediterranean.
The
best way to view the canal network is to hire a small, electric-powered
launch, available from the Port. Also available in the Port are larger
sea-going craft for sailing around the Bay of Roses. Regular boat
excursions can be made from here to L'Estartit and Cadaques via Cap
Creus.
Empuriabrava
is a mecca for sport ethusiasts, with sailing, water skiing, boating,
windsurfing, diving, fishing, horse riding, tennis and squash, go
karting, parachuting, mini-golf, walking and swimming all available
within the resort. For boating on the open sea,

rent motor boats between 5 and 9 meters, bowrider or with cabin, and a
boat can be rented with a boat license or with a skipper provided. There is a wide choice of restaurants in the centre and although prices are generally a little higher than Canyelles Petites or Roses, dining there can nicely complete an afternoon at Empuriabrava.
The town also has a small airstrip that is almost exclusively used for parachuting trips and a karting track (See our "Sport & Leisure" pages). There is a small cafe / bar by the airstrip, providing an excellent view of the aircraft movements and the Parachutists landing.
The Airport is signposted from the main road into Empuriabrava from the C260 Roses to Figueres road.
