With
good breezes and warm water, Roses Bay offers excellent sailing. Many bays (including Canyelles Petites and Roses) have ramp access to the beach,
although the fine sands make beach launching only suitable for dinghies and small catamarans.
When the Olympic Games came to Catalonia GEN put a proposal to the organizing committee to bring sailing competitions to Roses, but in the end they decided to construct the “Port Olimpic de Barcelona” (Barcelona Olympic Marina). Nevertheless some of the members of GEN participated as staff in a very active way in the sailing trials of BCN 92.

Club has accreditation for:- Training centre for Laser sailing by the Catalonia Sailing Federation
- Accepted School by the Catalonia Sailing School
- Teaching centre for instructors by the Catalonia Sports School of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalonian Government)
- Teaching
centre for instructors by the Catalonia Sailing Federation
The Bay of Roses is an ideal location to experience the exhilaration of catamaran sailing. Funtastic offers everything from two-hour guided excursions along the bay to an intensive course of eight sessions of ninety minutes.
There are further opportunities for dinghy sailing right around the Bay of Roses, and larger crafts can be hired at the port in Empuriabrava.
For those visiting by sea from other areas of the Mediterranean, both the Roses Leisure Port (Port Roses) and Empuriabrava Marina ( EmpuriaPort ) have temporary berths.
